Industry Standard Symbols

CADWorx P&ID comes with an extensive symbols library to regional standards. You can easily add user symbols and assemblies that are automatically made intelligent and have the same functionality as those supplied with the program. CADWorx P&ID`s built-in tools will also automatically add your symbols to the menus without any programming.

Specification Checking

CADWorx P&ID has optional piping specification checking capabilities built in. This allows designers to create process diagrams that access the same specifications used by CADWorx Pipe. With your process diagrams and piping designs using the same checks, you can be sure that your designs are correct from conception to delivery.

Project Document Links

CADWorx P&ID allows users to link an unlimited number of documents to their P&ID components, and this information is stored in the project database. Once linked, you can click on any component to access or view any documents pertaining to it. Now, maintaining and accessing your project documents just got easier!

Legacy Drawing Conversion

Your old drawings and the information they contain can still be useful! CADWorx P&ID includes powerful mapping routines that make linking valves, vessels, mechanical, instruments and process lines easy. Once mapped, CADWorx P&ID will recognize all subsequent instances of that item and automatically link it to the correct database table.

User-defined Project Databases

CADWorx P&ID provides a dynamic solution for defining and maintaining the structure of project databases. This capability requires no database knowledge and ensures that project database and drawing information is always synchronized. CADWorx P&ID uses industry standard open database connectivity (ODBC) links to provide the best performance while maintaining data integrity.

Bi-directional Database Links

Data integrity is never compromised however many drawings are linked to your project databases. Whether common information is changed in the drawing or from within the database, all relevant drawings will be kept up-to-date. This means that CADWorx P&ID makes sure that drawings and database are always in sync.

Database Reporting

CADWorx does not limit you to using any particular database. Because you can use your current ODBC compliant database, you can create exactly the reports that you require in the form that suits your enterprise. CADWorx P&ID comes with valve, Specification Checking and process line reports and input forms that can easily be modified to specific requirements.

CADWorx IP (Internet Publisher)

Allows the users to publish their P&ID projects in a web based format allowing users access to drawings, reports and underlying database information from browser. Distributive design and information sharing has finally come of age in the plant design world!

CADWorx LOOPS

Allows users to automatically produce instrument loops diagrams from their CADWorx P&ID Professional project databases using user defined drawing templates. CADWorx Loops also uses these template drawings to automatically add loop tables in the project database so that further information can be added to individual loop diagrams without any CAD knowledge. No database knowledge is required!

The CADWorx Loops open architecture allows users to create templates that may include any attribute data they require. This means that templates can be created using information that third-party instrumentation or electrical modules need for intelligent post processing of CADWorx Loops diagram information.
